“When I was 14 years old, I was going to the
football with my father to see Collingwood play at
the M.C.G. On the way we dropped past my
Dad’s best friend’s work to pick him up. He had
established one of Melbourne’s first private
Orthotics & Prosthetics clinics in Richmond,
Melbourne.”
Whilst there, he asked us into his patient fitting
room where he was finishing with a three year old
girl and her Mum. She was born with a leg
deformity and struggled to walk. Unfortunately her
right leg was unable to hold her weight as it was
too short and deformed. He finished fitting with her
very first prosthesis. “She just stood up and began
walking with the biggest smile I had ever seen,”
says Rainer
“I was so touched and inspired by the huge
positive impact this made on her that I decided to
study to be a health professional. I now make that
difference in other people’s lives.”
From a time some 23 years ago, Rainer Maier has
worked in the health sector, committed to
improving the lives of his patients.
With Complete Feet, Rainer has found a unique
way to not only treat foot pain and injuries, but to
prevent them through Orthotic prescriptions
correct footwear, foot & ankle massage /
manipulation and rehabilitation programs .
Through his special interest in Lower limb
pathologies, Rainer is training the future
generation of clinicians to be genuinely
motivated by the best possible Lower Limb
treatments for the patient.
Beyond the clinic, Rainer builds trusted referrers
and partners to help treat patients, and with
whom he shares his constant learning and
innovations.

COMMITMENT TO HEALTH
For the past 22 years, Rainer has worked in
Germany, London and has been actively involved
with policy & rulings for the Orthotics profession. He
has made a commitment to constantly gain and
pass on knowledge about how to effectively treat
patients and operate a successful practice.
He now works closely with Surgeons,
General practice and Allied Health to make a
positive impact in the community by reducing foot
pain, increasing mobility and helping patients
achieve their sporting goals.
As past president of Australian Orthotic
Prosthetic Association, Rainer has worked to
maintain
the
integrity,
profitability
and
sustainability of the Orthotics profession, and to
help other health communities across Australia to
implement Orthotics best practice.
